Let's dive a little deeper...

Aloe barbadensis leaf distillate is derived from the leaves of the aloe vera plant. Elements of aloe vera leaf comprise minerals, polyphenols, and vitamins.

This commonly used plant distillate delivers antioxidant qualities to protect skin from environmental damage. Studies show it provides palliative properties and functions as a humectant (a hydrating mechanism).

Although aloe is undoubtedly restorative for skin, its advantages are sometimes exaggerated in cosmetics. For example, some skincare products promote aloe as an anti-aging elixir for wrinkles. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have that sort of power. Aloe is still an outstanding addition to your skincare products for its research-supported benefits.

Aloe barbadensis distillate is considered safe for skincare use by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel. Usage levels generally vary from 0.1–10% in skincare formulas, where it’s frequently blended with glycol to enhance penetration.
